Chic, Open-Concept Interior Remodel in Aptos, CA

CLIENT NEEDS

This project involved the complete renovation of an older home characterized by dated and dark interiors. The existing kitchen, located in a poorly functional back corner, presented significant challenges to the homeowners. Additionally, the home featured multiple finishes that clashed, contributing to its overall outdated appearance.

The scope of work included the replacement of all windows and doors to improve energy efficiency and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the home.

Our creative design team addressed these issues comprehensively, focused on transforming the old, dated house into a modern, functional living space tailored to the needs and preferences of the homeowners.

The main level living spaces underwent a significant transformation, with walls being opened up, removed, and replaced with updated finishes. Additionally, the primary bath and half bath underwent reconfiguration, resulting in all-new finishes. Furthermore, the removal of the small, deteriorating deck made way for the installation of a spacious party deck, enhancing outdoor entertainment opportunities.

In this interior remodel, high-quality materials were carefully selected to elevate the space and enhance its functionality. Luxurious LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) flooring was installed throughout, offering durability and elegance. A custom-designed stairwell light creates a unique ambiance, while a workstation sink and three new skylights enhance convenience and maximize natural light across the residence.

The kitchen features stunning Taj Mahal leathered quartzite countertops, providing a sophisticated focal point.

Limestone accents were incorporated into the primary bath, adding a touch of natural beauty. Practical yet stylish elements include Robern electric recessed medicine cabinets in the primary bath, a backlit mirror in the half bath, and a heated towel bar for added comfort.

RESULT

The remodel resulted in a spacious, modern, and luminous interior, characterized by an open and updated layout. The newly installed deck not only amplifies the sense of space but also offers breathtaking views that deserve to be captured in photographs throughout the entire house.
