Contemporary Townhome Remodel in Aptos

CLIENT NEEDS

This cut up 1980’s condo in Aptos was the perfect location for the owners. They love their neighbors and the convenience of condo living. They were looking to create a space to entertain and wanted to reflect their vibrant world view with bold finishes and lots of colors.

TALMADGE SOLUTION

Remove a wall to open the kitchen space and enlarge the opening to the living area to improve the flow and natural light. The island doubles as an intimate dining spot and once the counter stools are moved, it becomes a spacious buffet station. With their Indo/Dutch background, the clients were not afraid to commit to bold colors and unusual tile throughout. Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring was used throughout the home. The kitchen back splash is Rollin’ Stone Circles White polished stone mosaic, Caesarstone Sleek Concrete tops all of the cabinets and the island has a honed natural quartzite top. All new Bosch appliances were used. The custom-built pantry was painted in three shades of vibrant pink. The staircase wall was replaced with a custom metal rail system and Blue Heaven Marmoleum replaced the worn carpet. Two bedrooms were combined to create a spacious office/library.

The bathrooms were given updated style with all new fixtures in each. The fun comes in with Autumn Rain Bubbles as backsplash and the shower’s feature column in the primary bath, Facets Promise Blend Random Modular and an eye-catching sink by MITI San Tropez livened up the powder room. Muse Copper Tone Blend Interlude was a pop of color in the hall bath.

We installed solar panels and supplied a battery wall in the garage and now our happy homeowners are getting checks for the energy they are selling back to the power grid.
