CLIENT NEEDS

These Soquel clients wanted to modernize two outdated bathrooms: a primary and a secondary Jack-and-Jill bathroom. The primary bathroom had an awkward layout featuring a spa-like tub and shower, which they wanted to reconfigure into a more functional shower-only space. They also needed a practical storage solution for their freestanding ironing board and iron. The secondary bathroom, which was carpeted, was in need of a complete refresh.

TALMADGE SOLUTION

In the primary bathroom, we transformed the space into a luxurious modern retreat by removing the bathtub and installing a spacious step-up shower. The toilet area, previously separated by a partial wall, was enclosed for privacy with a sleek pocket door. We also added a contemporary floating vanity and custom linen cabinet, complete with a convenient fold-out ironing station and hanging space for freshly pressed clothes. To maintain the bathroom’s open and airy feel, the shower wall was designed to stop short of the ceiling, preserving the room’s sense of openness.

The client opted for earthy tones, seeking a subdued yet timeless aesthetic. The materials chosen included ceramic tiles with stone-like textures and patterns, quartz countertops with marble-like veining, and sleek graphite finish plumbing fixtures, all contributing to a classic and elegant look.

The secondary Jack and Jill bathroom maintained its original layout but was updated with a more playful and colorful design. We started by replacing the carpet and dated vinyl with stylish vinyl plank flooring throughout. A sleek new vanity cabinet was installed, and to maximize space and functionality, one of the sinks was removed, creating a more open and streamlined feel.

The cabinets and shower tiles were updated with a vibrant green hue, while all plumbing fixtures and bath accessories were finished in elegant brass, adding a touch of warmth and sophistication to the space.
