CLIENT NEEDS

The homeowners of this Scotts Valley, CA home were eager to revamp their bathrooms. Their goals included expanding the primary bathroom for added space, seeking a larger shower, and adding a trough sink in the vanity. Additionally, they sought to maximize storage, especially in the laundry room.

Talmadge Construction’s architectural design team collaborated closely with the homeowners to develop a tailored solution. Attentive to their needs, we prioritized maximizing space in the primary bathroom. With every inch carefully considered, we optimized the size of the vanities and incorporated ample storage options throughout the space.

The primary bathroom features beautiful tile flooring and a tile baseboard, complemented by quartz countertops and rift white oak cabinetry, creating an elegant yet functional space. The showstopper? The meticulous tile work, especially the striking herringbone pattern on the primary bath shower floor.

The guest bathroom also received stunning tile work, featuring a spectacular chevron design on the shower walls.

Stepping into these areas, one can’t help but marvel at the craftsmanship of our tile installer—it’s truly a masterpiece. Let’s not forget the plumbing fixtures, either. With an olive bronze finish in the primary bathroom and a sleek carbon finish in the guest bathroom, the overall effect is nothing short of breathtaking.

CHALLENGE

We initially aimed for a curbless shower design in the primary bathroom. However, upon demolition, we discovered that existing conditions wouldn’t accommodate it. Consequently, we installed a curb and a glass sliding door instead. Despite this change, the addition of both a showerhead and a rain shower head necessitated the curb to effectively contain water within the shower area.

RESULT

Upon closer inspection, every detail radiates meticulous attention and care, from the flawless cabinetry to the impeccable tile work.
