Aptos Aging In Place Bathroom

CLIENT NEEDS

Since this Aptos home was built in 1975 a new bath was the order of the day for this couple. They plan to stay in their home well into the future. Outdated finishes, a small shower and tub, and a closet all needed to go.

TALMADGE SOLUTION

The space was gutted to the studs and a new low step shower with built in seating, glass enclosure, and grab bar took the space where the small shower and tub had been. The glass shower enclosure allows light from the window to flood the room. New clear cherry cabinetry was added for maximum storage along with ample counterspace. The owners opted to use the same cabinet style and countertop material that was used in a kitchen remodel a few years before. Counter and backsplash are Blue Marine polished granite, matte finish Barrique Bleu tile on the shower walls with accent tile in glass creates a safe surface that complements the counters and works well with the hardwood floors that run throughout the home.

This couple has called on us many times over the years to update their home, make it safer, create enjoyable outdoor space, and a place they can enjoy well into the future.
